The Colorado Department of Education announced that
Mead Middle School has won two more prestigious awards.
The Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award:
This award goes to a select number of schools that show high
growth as measured by the Colorado Growth Model.
The John Irwin School of Excellence Award:
This award is given to a select number of schools that show
levels of high achievement as measured by CSAP

Mead Middle School is an EXCEL focus school Mead Middle school believes that students that get involved and are connected to the school are more likely to succeed in school. We believe that at Mead Middle School, our focus on Reading, Writing and Math have made us an Excellent Middle School. We also believe that our work around getting kids involved in our school has helped to support our success. Our EXCEL program allows us to extend kids learning and sense of belonging by adding more programs outside our instructional day. We believe by doing this, we will not lose our core academic focus during the school day and still able to do those other things that help make our kids well rounded.
